A Small Bowl of Superfood Guacamole

What happens when you cross a love for avocados & guacamole with a passion for superfoods?

Superfood Guacamole!

3 tsp Hemp Seeds

1/4 tsp Blue Green Algae

2 tsp Fiesta Mole

1 tsp Nutritional Yeast Flakes (for a cheesy taste)

1/4 tsp Chipotle Powder or Cayenne (optional)

1 Avocado chopped

1/2-3/4 tsp Lemon Juice

Chopped sweet onion & chopped tomato (optional)


Stir all the dry ingredients together, then add the avocado and mix or mash it into the dry ingredients.  Add the lemon juice and any additional favorite guacamole ingredients.


Use as a dip, a spread, or eat straight up like the Superfood Bowl that it is!

Lentil Falafels & Cucumber Dill Sauce

Falafel is a traditional middle eastern food that is typically made from garbanzo beans and fried.  It’s often served in a pita bread or on a salad with a tzatziki sauce (cucumber-yogurt sauce).  This raw version I created completely satisfies my greek food cravings and I can taste the aliveness in every bite.

Falafel Patties

1/2 Medium Onion (about 1 cup once shredded in the food processor)

2-4 Carrots (about 1 cup once shredded in the food processor)

1 Garlic clove

1 Cup Sprouted Lentils (1/2 Cup dry lentils)

1 Cup Water

1/2 Cup Ground Flax Seeds

1/4-1/2 of an avocado

3 Tbsp Parsley or Cilantro (dried or fresh)

1 tsp Cumin

1 tsp Coriander (seeds or powder)

1.5 tsp SunFire Salt

1/4 tsp Turmeric

If you crave salmon, or you’re just looking for another yummy “raw sandwich” filling, this mock salmon spread is Excellent!

Here’s the recipe for making the basic salmon spread (it’s like a nut paté) and then I’ll share some ideas on how to use it, including in nori rolls (the quick raw sandwich)

Raw Caramel Dip

Caramel DipIn search for a Halloween recipe I found this raw caramel dip that’s easy and yummy.  Tastes great with apples, especially tart ones like Granny Smith, and goes well mixed in a bowl of raw ice cream.

Here’s the very simple recipe:

2 Cups Dates

1/2 Cup Maple Syrup

1 Tbsp Vanilla Extract

1.5 Tbsp Lemon Juice

1 tsp Sun Fire Salt

Pit the dates and soak them in water with a little lemon juice for an hour.  Drain the dates and combine them with the other ingredients in a food processor (or a blender).  Process until creamy.  Eat immediately or store in the fridge for ongoing caramel fun.


Raw Hummus for Pizza Cracker Topping

HummusYou could buy hummus at the store, but it wouldn’t be raw.  Garbanzo beans (the main ingredient of hummus) are cooked when made into hummus.  Sometimes I buy hummus, but it’s nice to have this completely raw and lighter fare version made with cashews.

I tried out this yummy raw hummus recipe in order to have an excellent topping to our favorite pizza crackers.  Turns out it’s also a great dip for pea pods or other veggies and easy to customize with additional spices to your liking.

Here’s the simple recipe:

4 Cups Cashews (soaked 4 hours and rinsed)

1/2 Cup Lemon Juice

2 Garlic Cloves

1/4 Cup Tahini (Sesame seed butter)

1 tsp Sun Fire Salt

2 tsp Olive Oil

1 Cup Water (add as needed)

In a food processor, add everything except the water and process until finely ground.  Slowly add the water about 1/4 Cup at a time until the whole mixture is a smooth, almost fluffy consistency.  Eat immediately or chill for later use.

Raw Creamy Spinach Dip

spinach dipThis is another staple raw food that’s almost always in my refrigerator for the week.  If I have Green Flax Crackers around I’ll dip those in, or celery sticks, or even potato chips (I still eat them now and then).

This recipe came from Yemiah’s Raw Food Recipe DVD’s – a great investment for more raw food ideas and lots of them are winners!

Yemiah’s Creamy Spinach Dip
Step 1: Almond Cheese 
2 Cups Unpasteurized, Activated Almonds or alternatively dry or soaked Almonds1½ Cups Water, less for soaked/wet Almonds

1/2 Cup Fresh Lemon Juice

1/4-1/2 Hot Pepper – Habenaro or Jalapeno

4 Tbsp Golden Flax Seeds or Olive Oil or half and half mixture

2 tsp Sun Fire Salt
